Margaret Johnson is currently the Noon anchor for WXII 12 News in Winston-Salem. Before that, she also anchored WXII 12 News On the weekend and WXII 12 News At Sunrise.

Before moving to the Triad, Margaret anchored the news at WDEF-TV IN Chattanooga, Tennessee and in her home town of Columbus, Georgia. Margaret is a graduate of The University Of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she earned a B.S. Degree in Communication.

Margaret comes from a large family with 14 children. She is a member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem where she is an active member of the Sunday School and a member of the Young Adult Usher Board. In her 20 years as a journalist, Margaret has interviewed a number of influential people including Bill Clinton, Dan Quayle, Jesse Jackson, Denzel Washington, Danny Glover, Maya Angelou and Oprah Winfrey.

Margaret has been named woman of the year by the triad girl scouts council. She was also singled out by the North Carolina Education Association as Broadcaster of the year for her reporting on education issues. Margaret is a cancer survivor who believes in modern day miracles. When doctors told her she may not survive, Margaret put her trust in a higher power. She asked God to heal her from her sickness and he delivered her whole. Margaret is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is married to Ron Pannell. They have one daughter, Allyson.
