Kimberly Van Scoy

Kimberly Van Scoy joined WXII 12 News as anchor and reporter in March 1998.

You can see Kimberly weekday mornings from 5-7 a.m. Kimberly said her favorite part of her job is "the ability to touch people's lives in a positive way. As the station's medical reporter, I'm able to pass on valuable information.

"I regularly hear from viewer's who were encouraged by a certain medical story to see their doctor. A story I did on colon cancer prompted one viewer to get tested. He had no warning signs but he did have colon cancer. He said we helped save his life!"

Kimberly and her husband, Don, married in 1990. They have two daughters, Melanie and Lindsey, and a Border Collie, named Chelsea.

Kimberly is active in the community, having served on the boards of the YWCA of Winston-Salem and Family Services of Forsyth and Davie Counties. She also serves on the board for the Sara Lee Center for Women's Health at Forsyth Medical Center.

She also co-chaired "Wrapped Up in Ribbons," an event to benefit Cancer Services and helped organize "Taste of the Town" which raises money each year for Family Services.

One of her favorite projects was "Kimberly's Kids" - her annual toy drive that collected thousands of toys for needy children in the Triad.
