Nicole Ducouer anchors along side Kimberly Van Scoy, Austin Caviness and Jennie Stencil bright and early in the morning.

Nicole Ducouer signed on as morning reporter at WXII in April of 2006.

Since then she's covered everything from severe weather, to politics, to the Dixie Classic Fair! She's covered some stories that she says will stick with her forever. For instance, the Virginia Tech shootings and the death of Sgt. Howard Plouff. Nicole has met some wonderful people in the community through her work with the YWCA, Special Olympics and other community organizations.

She comes to us from WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where she worked as an anchor/producer. In West Virginia, she interviewed Jessica Lynch soon after she returned to the Mountain State as a P.O.W. She also reported on the many Hurricane Katrina evacuees that packed an army base in the mountains. Her biggest story was the Sago Mine Disaster that happened in her own backyard.

Nicole certainly had a great time covering the West Virginia University Mountaineers! She even won an award from the West Virginia Broadcasting Association for "Best Spot News". It was well deserved considering she got pepper-sprayed on the field in the process of getting video after a WVU/Virginia Tech game. Try talking on LIVE television after getting pepper-sprayed! That's what happens when the entire student body decides to rush the field and tear down the goal post! Ahhh, they make her proud to be a Mountaineer!

Nicole grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa., (yes, she's a Steelers fan!) where the sun doesn't always shine like it does down here!

"I am so happy to be working in such a wonderful place. I have yet to meet a stranger in the Triad. I'm proud to call Winston-Salem my new home. "
