(Sports Network) - The New England Patriots signed linebacker Rosevelt Colvin on Wednesday.

Colvin, who spent five seasons with the Patriots before his release this past February, was signed by the Houston Texans as a free agent in August.

The 31-year-old veteran was released by the Texans during final roster cuts on August 29.

Colvin played in 11 games with 10 starts for the Patriots in 2007 and totaled 28 tackles, four sacks and one interception before landing on injured reserve with a foot injury.

In 117 career games with 75 starts over nine NFL campaigns with Chicago and New England, Colvin has amassed 414 tackles (293 solo), 52 1/2 sacks, three interceptions, 13 forced fumbles and nine fumble recoveries.

The Patriots also signed linebacker Angelo Craig to the practice squad.
