New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - New York Jets running back Thomas Jones, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney and Miami Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter have been selected as the AFC's top players for the month of November.Jones, the AFC's rushing leader, captured the offensive award after helping the Jets to a 4-1 record for the month. He led the AFC with 556 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns in five November games, while posting three 100- yard efforts. Against the Rams in Week 10, he ran for 149 yards and scored a career-high three touchdowns. Freeney notched defensive honors for the third time in his career with five sacks and a pair of forced fumbles during the month. He helped the Colts to a 5-0 record for November. His sack of Cleveland quarterback Derek Anderson last week led to a fumble that was recovered by teammate Robert Mathis, who raced 37 yards to the end zone for the only touchdown of a 10-6 Indianapolis victory. Carpenter was perfect on all eight of his field goal attempts, including five of 40 yards or more, to help Miami to a 4-1 record for the month. The rookie beat the Raiders in Week 11 with a 38-yard field goal in the final minute of the fourth quarter and kicked three field goals last week in a win at St. Louis.
