Eagles CB Samuel Out Vs. Cardinals, Westbrook Suits Up

POSTED: 1:37 am EST November 28, 2008

(Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel sat out Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, while running back Brian Westbrook starred in the Thanksgiving Day tilt.

Samuel injured his neck in the first quarter of Sunday's 36-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The offseason acquisition returned to the game after the injury, but did not practice during the short week. He has totaled three interceptions and 28 tackles in 11 games this season.

Westbrook, who has been nursing a plethora of injuries throughout the season, was officially listed as questionable, but the star running back had one of the best games of his career, tying an Eagles record with four touchdowns -- two on the ground and two through the air -- in the 48-20 blowout of the Cardinals.

The Villanova product rushed for 110 yards on 22 carries and hauled in three passes for 20 yards in the win.

Westbrook's backup, Correll Buckhalter, was not in uniform as he is suffering from a sprained knee.
