Stars' Morrow To Miss Six Months

POSTED: 6:35 pm EST November 21, 2008

(Sports Network) - Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow is expected to miss up to six months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the club announced on Friday.

The 29-year-old Morrow skated in all 18 games for the Stars this season and recorded five goals and 10 assists. The Saskatchewan native has notched 173 goals and 216 assists over his nine years in the NHL, all with Dallas.

"We are obviously very disappointed to hear the news about Brenden's knee," said co-general manager Les Jackson. "As our captain, he will obviously be missed, but we have every assurance that he can and will come back from this injury at 100 percent. There is a lot of hockey left to be played this season, and we are confident our team will rally together and keep pushing."

The club recalled journeyman forward Landon Wilson from Grand Rapids of the AHL.

The 6-foot-3, 226-pound Wilson has skated in 348 career games with Colorado, Boston, Phoenix and Pittsburgh, and racked up 50 goals and 61 assists.
