Sabres Place Kaleta On IR

POSTED: 2:24 pm EST December 4, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres have placed right wing Patrick Kaleta on injured reserve because of a head/neck injury.

Kaleta was hurt during Saturday's game against Montreal and did not play Monday against Nashville. He has just one goal and one assist in 21 games this season, but is second on the team with 48 penalty minutes.

The Sabres recalled defenseman Mike Weber from Portland of the AHL. Weber appeared in two games with Buffalo in October.

A second-round choice by the Sabres in the 2006 draft, Weber has two assists and 51 penalty minutes in 19 games with Portland.
