    Wesley
Wesley found a guardian angel when he met Jennifer Hart with ARFP. Wesley could no longer live with the family he had come to know and love during his short life. Someone needed to help this 35 lb, young boy and Jennifer did. She called A New Leash on Life and asked if this sweet, good natured boy who loves to frolic and play could come to prison and join the program.
He is now at the prison living onsite with his own personal inmate/trainer Daniel, learning basic obedience skills to prepare him for adoption so he can go to a permanent home and become a well-behaved canine family member.

    Dixie
Dixie’s eyes tell her whole story. She was surrendered to the SPCA, along with her brother Winston, because the family could no longer care for them. Dixie’s sad life experiences have left her a bit shy and cautious, but when she gets to know you she is all about petting, cuddling and loves one on one attention. This sweet girl is a 1 year old lab mix.
Now at the prison with her personal inmate trainer, Damien, Dixie is preparing to be a well-behaved, loyal canine family member. Sweet Dixie really deserves a chance to be loved and to become someone’s next best friend.

    Tank
Hard to believe Tank was abandoned, found wandering along Hwy 162 in Guilford County. A kind person found Tank and brought him to the SPCA Shelter. Tank is a one year old Shepherd Mix who gets along well with other dogs. Even though this one year old weighs 90 lbs and we call him Tank, don’t be fooled. According to his Foster Mom, he is a big old cuddly teddy bear and loves to snuggle up on the couch with her.
Tank came rolling into the prison with his foster mom in her car with his head hanging out the window. Foster mom had trouble saying goodbye to this big guy at the dog house door. Tank is now working with his inmate/trainer Tim learning all the skills he needs to become your next best friend and a well-behaved canine loyal family member.

Rizzo, Leo, and Sahara are 3 great dogs that recently graduated from the New Leash On Life Program and are up for adoption.
